Pyro's Sprite Editor does the same thing--It saves your work as a pic ftom 1 to 255. I don't get what you mean by saving only specific parts.

What I mean is saving just a selected part of the picture, not the entire thing. Because xlib prompts you to display the sprite at X and Y coordinates, and you can't display entire pics at X and Y cooridinates, can you?

Actually, I believe you can. It just won't display the rest of the pic that is off the page.

Nope, it doesn't. With xLib, you enter the XY coordinates of the sprite, then also supply it's height/width, so that it doesn't display everything, just what was in that designated part.

Exactly. So if you set the entire picture as the 'designated part', you get the entire pic.

I'm sorry to say, but production of this and all other games/programs I'm making now will be much slower because I just got DarkBASIC Professional for making PC games.

Progression! I saw DarkBASIC when I was poking around for game-making tools. Too bad it actually cost something. You'll have to let me know how it is.

It looks cool, because it gives you a thick manual and a lot of demos to see how everything works, but looking on the website, they also have A LOT of add-on programs that could be useful (although not necessary) in making a game.

what kills me about those prgms is that they drain ur money, first with the main poackage and then with the addons. and to make this reply on topic i d like to say that i am saddened by oregon trails slow production rate. i beleive it is necesary to start on asm version

Well, I don't need the extra programs yet, because I barely know how to use the base program, but if anything, I'll just buy the AI, and maybe the special visual effects ones if I ever get good enough and want to sell my game(s).
