Thank you. I am working on the saving routine, so I can check to make sure it will load the data correctly. So far, I have it to where you can choose which slot, and am programming the actual checking right now... |

Well, I have been making slow progress on the saving system. I have made the code to the point where it is confusing me, so I spent about an hour last night writing it out on paper, so I can see what it was I was needing to do. Hopefully, I will be able to finish it up by Thursday, and I can get back to work on other things with it. |

Well, after a month of bashing my head off the desk, not caring, and sometimes having urges to just shoot the calculator, I have done it. I have finally completed the saving routine for save slot 1. Save slot 2 will be identical, and will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Anyways, first screen shot is when you first save:
The second screenshot is when you are simply overwriting a save game you are continuing:
The last screenshot is when you start a new game, and want to overwrite a previous save:

I know how that feels.
It does work right? J/k it looks really good. Do the screen shots do it justice or is it a different speed? |

Thank you. :)
It is smoother on the 83+SE, which is what it is being developed on/for. The screenshots are to prove I am makin progress. ;)
I hope to have the stats part of the menu done in the next 2 days, I have some... interesting... ideas for it. |

Same here. Perhaps that is why I have never finished a single project :(
As always, basic like that is awesome. |

Two days=six days right? No pressure, we're not, or at least I'm not, expecting anything too soon. |

well, if things go well today, I will have a screenshot of it up tonight. Otherwise, definitely tommorrow, since I am already halfway there with it.
I decided to add status bars for some of the stats that are applicable; originally it was only going to be 4 pixels long, but then decided that I had enough room at 25 pixels, and wouldn't need to add the max of the stats would be, the bar would tell you, sort of. :)
Also, thanks to CDI, I have it where the numbers will start out on the right side, and as the amount of digits increase, it moves left. Quite a nifty little trick. |

It looks nice tifreak8x. Just a suggestion, so that way it might look more advanced, is there anyway that you could get the number that you press to highlight? Like when saving, you can press 1 or 2. If you press 1, then it gets highlighted for a quick second and if you press 2, it gets highlighted for a quick second.
Just a thought. |

I have given some thought to that, and I might make a box "light up" around the number, but the whole highlight thing would be slow. :)
This be part of the stats screen. I haven't gotten it totally finished, obviously, but that is what is done. :)
And I know about the number problem there under the Gold text, that was fixed in the actual program, not in the one I am using to test the menu options.

Looks good so far, quick question though. What exactly are you using for the shaded part of the bars? |

The dark part of the bars just show relativity to being full. each pixel represents 4%.
I thought it would look nicer than just having numbers thrown up on a screen. I should have the rest of it completed later today.
edit:
There you go, the almost completed stat screen. The only things left for it are to add weapon and amour equipped, but since I need to create them first...

Not quite the response I was looking for but nevermind, my idea will not work.
Oh wait...you might be able to use the same method that you were using to fill in the bars for highlighting the choice. Not sure what method you are using though.

Code: L1(1)/L1(6)->U ;Real time hp, divided by max
U*100->U
Ipart(U->U
Line(33,55,U+33,55
That is what makes up the hp bar. probably needs optimizing, and I will try to do so eventually... |
