Maybe shorten it to 8 by 8 sprites in from back, would take some edge off memory requirements.

This sounds like a job for... Cellular Automata Tiles!

Seriously, they would work very well for your background tiles. And then for the characters I have a modified version of Arcane Wizard's huge people collection that will take two bytes and turn it into a unique 8x8 person sprite. It would be great to give it some use.

The monsters will be more difficult, but I think it will be possible. Smile

Don't worry! It will be all right. We're here to help you. And I like the challenge of getting low-resolution sprites to look good. Wink

I have started this project about 5 times over the last 2 years, each time getting about the same amount done. I did have the map from pallet to Viridian programed in and you could walk between them (text sprites) but that was it. Never got passed that :(

If i could draw pictures halfway decent i would make the game. But none of my sprites anything liek a pokemon.

One way to get around that is to create your own mythical monsters that all look different and just resemble random assortments of dots and lines.

Is this on the 89 or the 83? 83 has limited pic space, unless you are using xLib... Sorry for restating the obvious, I didn't know if you knew.

One thing I continuously wonder is how people store massive ammounts of combat attack graphics. How do you plan to do this?

The 89 can store any amount of pics you like...as long as you have the space. Kind of like the ...erm...storage Mafia of Ti calcs.

The game was gona be for 83+, few people have a 89. The graphics is the reason this project will never be finished(by me). The combat graphixs would be stored just liek all graphics, most likey in the form: pxl-on , line( , shade( , etc.... I dont use pix in my games becuase its annoyingh for peopel who have to install the picturs when they download the game, and they can be erased without the person knowing what hes doing. Just not my style.

You could write code to draw and store the sprites into pics. And delete after the program is done.

i would need ones for battle size, ones with a view behind them for your battle ones, and sprites for the people. I also need sprites for the dude when he walks unless i used text graphics.

Plague, if you look at the game Pokemon my freind pointed out to me that there's really from each viewpoint two-four pixles of change as you walk. Hope that helps.

i need a sprite(s) of the pokemon duded walking around. anyone that wants to make a custom pokemon please do. Make a sprite of its front and back for battle, list its stats, a pokedex desription, type, atacks, etc... and i will assemble everything into a game. I can make teh map sprites, and make everything work if i haqve all the pictures and pokemon. Also any ideals on a custom game map would be nice also. A custom picture of teh entire new world would be awsome, cuss i can make games, but im not creative in making new stuff.

so...can you specify the dimensions of the sprites please?
what SIZE do you want them to be?
I can't start making an effective sprite if it's not the right size you need!!

Let us know bro!
Peace outside
