Hmm. I know there's a REALLY, REALLY fast way to do it with XORPic, but I don't know how to do that. Other than that, this is the fastest, most efficient possible way. You might want to upload it as a .zip file with the actual program included.

Since it's a routine, that's not necessary.

If you shade the whole screen to black, then store it as a picture, you can just XorPic the picture and it will invert the screen. However, it's memory-intensive (and you can't even create the picture with NewPic).

2 seconds, I think, is an overestimate (I tried it on my own calculator). It takes around 1.3 seconds on a regular TI-89 with moderately low batteries.
