Ah, I'm very sorry to hear of your great misfortune.  No worries about the ninja game, it was never your obligation in the first place.
Not sure when I'll have time to work on this again, but I'll probably start by trying some procedural level generation. Even if it doesn't work well enough to use in a game, hopefully it will teach me more about how to design good levels for this engine.
If anyone else wants to volunteer to be a level designer, that would be great as well. Just let me know.
