Unless you know the hex codes, I'm not aware of any complilers that work on your calculator. This might make a good app.

But it's very hard to make such a program, isn't it? Confused

That would be great cause I dont have much time on the computer -
please someone of you should try to make it!

Oh, yes, you can also read This discussion. TitanASM was started, but will never be finished, AFAIK.

On-calc assembly?! What a great idea!! We should call it "chasm"...

Edit: Oops: sorry, IAmACalc. I didn't notice the "Ahem" was a link.

I dont think so.....a basic could be something like the Qwerty program which actually creates ASCII text files.

Guys, I was being sarcastic Razz
To my knowledge, there are two on-calc compilers: Chasm and TitanASM (both of which are not quite done). Here's Chasm:

It's fun for small projects, but for anything serious definitely not.
(1)You have to have memory enough for both the source and the compiled code. 12kb program limit sound fun?
(2)asm programs frequently crash. Bye bye code. On the computer you don't lose anything.
(3)With something as complicated as assembly, it often helps to see many lines of code at once, to get the big picture.

theoretical it would be posible to put the code in chunks

what if the compiler archives the source and you archive the rest before run, and the compiler must be realy stable of course

I can read only one line at the time Wink, but serious, if you use the big font it would be clearer I think.
why am I saying this?, becouse I think it could be done.

Well, TitanASM was never released, as there were mysterious crashes following the discussions on the DS forums. It has also been removed from the 'upcoming' page, so many think that it will NEVER be released.

ChASM has a functioning compiler, but can be VERY glitchy with scrolling and such, and is case-sensitive. It crashes rather often if you try anything that it doesn't like. Be SURE to read the readme if you want to have any hope of comprehending it. It works though, and that's what matters. There hasn't been any news about it lately, however, so this too may have simply disappeared into the void.
