An idea for the next programming competion?

By the way, what does that program do?

EDIT: Take a look at this one. (read smr.hint) It really does work - I tried it.

But that's not fair to us who don't know ASM! You could make an entire program written in opcodes...

Well, it would be separated into catagories.

Basic provides so much more potential for obfuscated code.

About writing in opcodes... you can get so much more obfuscation if you write in the ASCII equivalents instead.

Heh. Same here (at least in my Z80 basic). I really should develop better habits, though...

eh, since when is commenting code good behaviour?

If you can't figure out what basic code does...

It's not always obvious.

A compromise between cutting down on program size and having comments is a .txt file on your computer with the source thoroughly commented.

For an 89 basic program

Code:
bleh(x,y)
rand(abs(when(x<y,x-y,y-x)-1))+when(x<y,x,y)-1

This is my replacement for the randint( function on the 83+. I know I couldn't figure it out with one glance (even though some on this forum could), so it's a good thing I actually labeled it 'randint' instead of 'bleh', and 'boundone' and 'boundtwo' instead of 'x' and 'y'. There is a degree of usefulness, however small, in keeping your basic code comprehensible.
