[font="courier new"]rand() is likely what he meant.

first game i've seen in split screen mode.

but, i'd recommend you work on the coding first, not the storyline. Smile

83+ Split screen? That IS a novel idea. Personally, I think it would be a great idea for an RPG, have the battle on the top and the commands on the bottom... Sounds good!

You mean nobody has done that in basic? I mean, I assume people have done that in ASM.

I think people have, but no one uses the split screen. Ever. Don't ask me why, I think it's a great idea.

*cough* *cough*

What I made was only a preview of the story. Split screen was never intended...

I didn't notice that one. Sorry. I've just never heard of one before, as I didn't go through the entire ticalc.org 83+ basic game archive.

As you may or may not have seen, I will be using two large font characters to make a sprite on the graphscreen to make the maps. (Click here for more info.)

I will be accepting suggestions for what types of sprites you all want.

So far I only have:
*opponent
*spellbook
*rock on ground

I need a vote.

Would you rather have the map on the top (graph) or the bottom (home)?
Top would mean better graphics.
Bottom would mean scrolling, with better menus on the top half of the screen.

*I don't consider this important enough to start a poll about.
*Majority rules.

If you want, I or another mod can add in a poll. Just say what you want the choices to be.

Anyway, if it's not too restrictive, I'd generally put it on the bottom.

Could you start a poll with this post and the two before it, then edit it into this topic after ~10 votes?
Then yes.

Like split the topic? I guess so. Is it okay if I just add the poll to the topic as-is?
