There has been lots of talk about this in the IRC channel but it seemed to die down yhesterday. I decided to revive it by making this topic.

There was lots of brainstorming with many cool ideas (some cooler than others): a simple calculator, various animals, a plant, an owl, an owl holding a calculator, a calculator-looking owl, etc...
We sort of settled on a calculator-looking animal, but nothing's set yet.
Arcane even made a sketch, which he might be posting here tomorrow.

Does anyone have any more ideas? Anyone talented enough to draw a few sketches?

it could be a calulator with arms and legs and a smiley face on the screen or just the letters uti onthe screen

Not sure about you guys, but I think a calculator for a mascot at a calculator site would be kind of lame. That's like a football team choosing a football with arms and legs to be their masoct. But maybe that's just me! Whatever you decide on is cool by me. Some mascot isn't going to drive me away. Smile

Oh yeah, I forgot had the idea of making a contest after we decide what it should be.
Also, I believe it should be displayed in the current banner up there. The "United TI" Could be moved to the middle and the mascot would have plenty of space on the right. It could also be a dynamic picture that changes everytime you refresh, just so the mascot doesn't seem too fixed.

Yeah, that's how we'd make the dynamic pic. Same mascot, different postitions.
