In order to take down the evil Dr. Edmund's Darkstar bases, you must command your squad of robots through five different settings and foil his quest to destroy the planet with his weather controlling machines.
--------------------
After months of coding, Digitan has released the highly-anticipated Robot War battle RPG for the TI-82!
Rumor has it that he also plans to eventually port it to all models between TI-83 and TI-86.
It requires the CrASH 19.0 shell and comes with both a size-reduced Standard Edition and a multiplayer Linked Edition.

Robot War is available for download here and you can read more about it here.

To be honest I was a little suprised that Digitan didn't make this announcement himself since he has the power to do so.

Looks like I better get started on the Ti-85 port this week, wider graphics anyone?.

Oh yeah, I sorta forget I could do that already.

I guess I could start by widening the current 16x96 fight backdrops. They were based on photos I still have so maybe everybody can pitch in on them also.

Certainly it would be much better for the wider screen then blank space.

Yeah, I was thinking of maybe even having a sidebar in some parts. There are LCD_WIDTH= and LCD_HEIGHT= constants in the header file that will fix the tilemapper and scrolling right away, but that's about the only thing it affects.

Maybe as part of the v1.1 revision, I should add those to all the text/graphics positioning, because that stuff is extremely tedious to do by trial-and-error.

Technically, the (pinned Smile ) topic for Robot War (the one created when he uploaded it) would be the first announcement about its release.

Well, I also figured the TI-82 owners were in need of some new stuff to play. Ever since ROM 19.006 came out, we've only gotten two or three new ASM games a year. Cool

The revivisions are going a lot faster than expected. I've got tests until Dec 3, but after that it should only take maybe 2 weeks for me to do v1.1 and the new Lite Edition.

Yep, both the website and the game were painstaking to say the least. Honestly, when I started it all tiprogrammers.com, I thought the whole thing would take three months. That was 2½ years ago! Cool
