Donut Quest = 6*10*15 = 750 sprites. But then there's moving sprites around which involves drawing as well. (in fact, every time you move you draw 3 sprites).

so if you think about it, 10000+ isnt "that" huge for a strategy game, and I wasn't even counting the cursor


@Goose: what does meatloaf have to do with ACC's game :confused: :confused:

i don't think he means 10,000 individual, different sprites, just several sprites drawn 10,000 times. i think most people thought of the first one. when you think about it, elfprince is right, 10,000 isn't that surprising.

Sure, although from this it looks like my average is quite a bit higher than that....

I really haven't worked on my project much since i figured out the new sprite routine. I need to come up with something else to add, or find someway to optimize or something. Or find someone who has other calc models that I can borrow to start porting.

hmmm..."10" in hexadecimal is 16, right? now if it were in base 5985, he could be using all 5985 pixels available to xLib...

Except that xLIB can access many more pixels, 'tis just that most picture files don't actually have that many.

ah, yes. make that 59850 (63x95x10). a pixel is a pixel whether on or off.

@AlienCC: Unless you are never overlapping anything, you will be using 11 different colors. There's always a teeny tiny bit of gray when you change something, for example by overwriting something with Text(
