I really doubt that many emails would convince ticalc to feature it if they don't intend to. If anything it will make them annoyed.

I think I'll enter. Though, strategy games are not my favorite kind to play/program.

Staff can join with the exception of admins, right?

It will be interesting to see how many entries this gets, competetion will be tough as it's easier to enter than the ASM one!

Darn you people!! It's for a flash drive!!!

If it was for a calc, I probably wouldn't enter since I already have a bunch... but 256MB sounds pretty good. You are forcing me to sign up! Yes, competition will be tough!!

We should do this, like, bimonthly.

An RPG is not strategy. Think of Chess, or Risk, or Heroes of Might and Magic, even Starcraft if you can manage it. The game does have to be original though.

I'd say a strategy game would be a game wherein you manage multiple "units" on a "battlefield" using strategy and tactics to accomlplish a certain goal, such as defeat the opponent's units, or maybe make it to a certain point on the battlefield with at least one unit.

I guess we'll see this in the rules soon enough, but is originality nessecary as in obligatory or as in beneficiary towards one's score? ie does the game have to be original (so yet-another-chess-game v 2000 would simply be disqualified) or would it simply loose points on the originality score?

The category does provide quite a lot of freedom. Why couldn't people have voted Arcade?

this would elimanate Stratego-type game? ah well, back to the drawing board.....oh, and what about two player games? programming a good AI in Basic for something like Chess would be vicious on the size and speed, not to mention the programmer
