Help! My sister keeps getting into my folders and checking my stuff!!!

Is there a way I can password-protect them like with MS Word docs? I can't find any freeware on Google/Download.com

Also, is there a way to record every message on AIM and MSN? Again, no freeware... just evaluation stuff

Yeah, but she uses AIM. DeadAIM is not a choice, it can be easily turned off.

I think Gaim does too.

Trillian and Gaim does. I know for sure as I have used both.

As for password proteciton, why not look for a free PGP program?

What operating system are you using? I know you can restrict who has access to certain folders on Windows 2000, but I don't know about any other versions or anything. Just an idea...

As far as I know, Trillian and Gaim both log messages (plus other things). I've used both and have found that Gaim suits my needs better. However, that's more of a personal preference thing.

The newest version of MSN messenger should log your conversations as well. You just need to enable it in the preferences somewhere. As for the actual AIM software from AOL, I have no idea. Only used the stuff a couple of times several years ago.

You have direct access to every single file on the entire system and even the system itself, I wouldn't call it a "battle".

Seems someone got things backwards, I thought we were supposed to help with removal of keyloggers, not installation? :P

Does she, by any chance, know what you are doing? By running across this forum in a history file, for instance?

If you use MSN, Messenger Plus might be helpful. You can log chats and lock messenger, among other things.

MSN itself can log too, and quite well, no need for that MSNPlus crap that installs ad/spyware if you're not carefull during install.

Also, isn't this illegal regardless of wether it's just your sister and your own computer?

I use Firefox. Everyone uses IE.

Yeah, aww is right... I got it to work on MSN.

I don't think so. None of the programs I've downloaded so far have any disclaimers about that and some of them are quite "professional".

Why not zip and encrypt? That can be done in WinZip (AES).

Brazucs, you're the only Firefox junkie there? Leave them to writhe at the clutches of the Idiot Exploiter... mwahahaha... oops, sorry. :)

P.S. PM me if you want a copy of PGP Professional. Wink

wo... it made me a removable disk (FSmile. That's looking quite promising, thanks wrigley Very Happy !

Yeah, this'll work wonderfully! 25MB should get me places, even though my music alone is 135MB. I wonder if there's a crack for this anywhere, or something like it but unlimited space :googles:
