The long awaited IRC Mod is now installed, and Live! This modification programmed by our very own Darth Android of Dragon OS fame lets anyone join our IRC Channel through this webpage. The Java client itself is a nice free standalone client, which may report a java.ThreadDeath error, simply refresh the page in this case. If you've already read our IRC FAQ, then you're probably using your preferred stand-alone client.

In other non-related news, the links accross the top right corner of the page have been sorted into alphabetical order for ease of use.

I think this should be next to "Forums" on the left side of the page, though. Easier to see for newcomers.

You do need to have a copy of Java Runtime installed, in order to use it. Once thats installed it should run inside your webbrowser just fine.

It should tell you soon enough that you don't have permission to do any operator stuff, if not then we have problems. To be an operator on UTI you will probably have to use it for a while with no bad behaviour, etc. Don't ask to be one, as that's one of the best ways not to get selected. Wink

Coming very soon to a FAQs page near you ;)

Seriously though, there will be a another IRC FAQs specifically for using the Live IRC Module.......Please be patient though, it should be up by tonight :)

Though in the mean time do you have any specific questions you need addressed or would like to see answered for others?

For your first question: Read... the... FAQ!!!

For a new nick: type /nick [insert nick]
For a verbal action: type /me [insert action]
For a private message: type /msg [insert person] [insert message]

For more commands: http://www.google.com/

Google is hungry because of neglect. Please feed it some queries. Sad

for t3h irc newbs

for joining servers and such it depends on the client. Most give a list. If you know what server you want you can issue a "/server nameofserver" to connect.

Something is not right with your install then. Maybe try to upgrade or re-install the JRE. Also what web browser are you using?
