I know you can change what your login screen is, for Windows XP, I've messed around with it a bit. I was curious as to if I could get a .swf to somehow play before the login screen, or some time of animation at all, whatever format, then it would proceed to the login screen. Kind of a weird question, but I have a reason for needing this. Untill someone replies, I'll be googling Smile

You can change the GINADLL file in the registry under the WinLogon section.

That is the dll file that handles logon events.

On a microsoft network, it is msgina.dll on a novell network you use nwgina.dll...

If you get the right DLL, you can handle login differently.

Well, I've found a way to do it. I take the .swf, which is my animation that I want as the boot screen, and use a program called swf2avi to extract every frame from it, to seperate files. I then reconstruct all these seperate frames with Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8, and save it as a .gif. Now that I have my .gif, I open up BootXP, and choose the gif as the boot screen. And walaa Smile

I don't quite see what you guys are talking about ...

I googled
Found a program to use (swf2avi)
Used two programs
Successfully converted a .swf to a .gif

Now you tell me to google? That's the first thing I did ... and that's how I figured out how to do it ...

Assuming you have Flash, right? If you don't you have to get a third-party program, which is what he did.
