We are now setting up subdomain hosting, please read over the Hosting Rules if you are interested, or if you've had member webspace before and would like that revived as a subdomain.

it can be your username, most have preferred that so far, but I am not limiting it down to just that.

So how do you become a UTI Member as opposed to a Member? is it by invitation or what?

There are a few cases that were by invite, but the majority were not.

Here's how you set up a blog in your subdomain:

1. Create an account at blogger.com.

2. Create a blog. Here are the server details:

FTP server: YOURSUBDOMAIN.unitedti.org
Protocol: SFTP
FTP path: /var/www/users/uti_YOURSUBDOMAIN/public_html
Blog filename: index.html
Blog URL: http://YOURSUBDOMAIN.unitedti.org

The first time you post, you have to enter your username and password, then you have the option of blogger saving them.

3. Post!

You can find a list of all currently hosted subdomains at this link.
http://www.unitedti.org/index.php?page=utihosted
This is also labelled "UTI Hosted" in the upper right corner of this page.

Edit: If you'd like your Description updated contact me, and we'll get that updated.

They only appear for the ones that I've added them for, if you want a description added to yours, make my life easy and tell me what you think it should be! :)

Okay, i think "a blog about stuff that interests me [Leofox] in general, and TI-programming in particalur" is fine as a description. It's the same as my blog's.

You can even host your own blog. I think hosting your blog on your account may be easier than outsourcing it to some other website.

Ok, here's a detailed description of what I did:

1. Googled for "phpBB forum". You could just go to www.phpbb.com.

2. "Downloads". "phpBB 2.0.15 Full Package". I extract this to my computer, then upload it to my website.

3. I went to mpl.unitedti.org/phpBB2/ and filled in the installation form. I don't have it anymore, but if you give me any fields you have trouble with I could tell you what I put for them.

4. It told me something about config.php. I selected the manual upload option, then I saved the file given me to my computer, and uploaded it to replace a 0-byte config.php file in the phpBB2 folder.

5. I went to the forum. It told me to make sure that install/ and some other directory were deleted, so I deleted them.

6. It worked perfectly! It still looks ugly though, I need to fix that sometime.
