This is another memory expantion idea that will require no programs on your TI to work. This device will emulate simple commands such as request and ready commands, and after the right comanations of commands, it will send data that is stored on the EEPROMs. It will also record what the TI sends to the recorder. It is just another crazy idea of mine. What do you think?

This was basically the strategy behind my EED-2 (aka: project E-26). Unfortunantly, due to time limits I never assembled the circuit, although I've written some AVR code for it.

My only warning about EEPROMs is the bit rate. Some EEPROMs and Flashes require you to write to a temp buffer and then copy that buffer to memory. This greatly overcomplicates things for the control program. Some also require you to do a page or sector-erase before you write, or the write times will be to high for the calc's 9600bps.

In a nutshell, you'll need a very fast (probably parallel) EEPROM. If a page-erase is necessary, I'd never use one where that function wasn't built into the chip (after all, this is 2005). In other words you shouldn't have to do that garbage "manually." Once you get past these steps, you're basically done.
