What program do you have for getting the ROM? You need a program for your computer, as well as one for the calculator to send the ROM.

I have access to TI-Connect, Tilp, Graph-Link, and VTI. Of these only TI-Connect supports USB.

Have you tried the ROM dumper wizard in VTI?

I don't have VTI on this comp, so I can't tell you exactly what to do.

I don't think VTI supports USB.

it doesn't. the only calc linking program that supports usb is ti-connect, and that doesn't have a rom dumper.

I think the only solutions are then:
1)Download a ROM from the web (that's legal right, if you own the calc yourself?)
2)Borrow a serial link from someone else.

What are you going to use the ROM for? I don't think there's an emulator that supports the 84+ anyway.

TiLP does support USB. I use it all the time. I despise TI-Connect with a bloody passion. TI-Connect is a piece of crap.

That probably doesn't support the 84+. That's like loading a 84+ OS on a 83+ (someone tried that though, so it might work).

It supports SilverLink. It does not support standard USB. I know TI-Connect is crap, but it came with the calculator and we have dial-up which is way to slow to donwload TiLP

vti 3.0 is designed to work with 83+Silver Edition. I have 84+Silver Edition. Its worth a try

I've never seen a Beta or Released version of 3.0... I actually though TiLP had support for TI-84+(SE) and their USB link... guess I was wrong *looking sheepish*.

It's strange, but everytime I boot up VTI 3.0, it crashes with a weird error message before even getting in... 2.5b works fine, though... Quite perplexing.......

It's only legal if you own the calculator the ROM came from. Unless someone else stole your ROM and happened to put it on a website, it's not yours.

If you are really desperate....

With games, it's like this: you can download a ROM of, for example, Mario bros for the NES, if you own the cassete with Mario bros. It doesn't have to be the same cassette, as long as its the same game. That's because you need special equipment to dl a rom from your cassette to your comp.

In other words:
Someone who owns an 83+, can legally download an 83+ ROM of the internet.
