So, in the Spin game, you have to time exactly when Mario is close enough, and then spin?

That one's nice, but it could take a while (maybe too long?) to get to the correct letter. Maybe you can have only 5 letters in it, and use the f1-f5 buttons to choose.

It looks like you only need to get one letter. That wouldn't be too bad, would it?
Make three or four rows and you wouldn't need that much time...

How long does the fuse last?

I think it is the same as the others time limit...5 seconds I think right.

what if it had a key pad and a math problem? (ADD! 2+3^3=?)

The fuse should be about 5 seconds. Also, math-based microgames might be good, considering they use minimal graphics.

About image compression... I'd rather not have to re-invent the wheel, so can anyone point me to some compression/decompression routines?
Thanks.

One that was recommended to me is basic Run Length Encoding. Zshell Compressed Pictures is a variation of RLE. Both run in the fake DOS environment. If you want, I can show you some example code, but the .txt is pretty self-expanitory.

Use Apack instead. It produces about 2x the compression of ZCP.

I'll get to it.
You can't rush art.
(Mostly, I'm waiting for summer to start.)

Oy, CR34T1V3. Be very careful with those 2-word posts--those would be spamming. I'll overlook it for now, but only because this is a cool project and I was planning to "bump" it myself.

Anyway, I want to see how many mini-games we can cram in there. It would neat if most of them were calculator or school-related: like "REPLACE the battery" or "SWIPE the chalk." I dunno. Neutral

You should also make it so each character has a level. You know, u start off with Wario and you must complete his stage of games and beat his boss then you can get the next character. Either that or leave Wario for last.

As for more mini-games, check this out! They all have videos of what they games are.

Well...
Since my last post in this topic, I got caught up in DK:Jungle Beat, Animal Crossing, Wario-Ware: Touched!, my summer reading for school, my AP Chem summer work... and well... We also have a family wedding, a family member moving out, someone moving in, in addition, I was taking driving lessons, and am behind in my driving hours to qualify for the final test...

So I am afraid to say I haven't yet worked on WW:P at all this summer...

I did, however, do a little bit with image compression and start programming a few of the microgames before June 1st...
It would neat if most of them were calculator or school-related: like "REPLACE the battery" or "SWIPE the chalk." I dunno.
That's a good idea... I'll think about it...

It's interesting... You pm'd the exact same day another kid emailed me about WarioWare... Especially after a several month hiatus...
I might get working on WarioWare again, but I work better alone (if at all)...
we have the edge on multiplayer and character capabilities
There isn't a multiplayer in the Actual WW games, but I guess you could implement it. Also, I just want to get a good amount of microgames made before I decide I have enough to separate them among different characters...
I was thinking that, in addition to a replay mode, you might be able to make a "custom mix" of microgames... Like only play your favorites...

I know...
To "replay" a game, you must first complete it in normal mode.
Then I'll make it so that you can then make a custom mix once you've sucessully replayed every one of the microgames.
Maybe... Hmmm...

PS:
BTW, has anyone seen the MGS4 trailer from the TGS? Looks great. I can wait to get my PS3... 2006, it so close! 360 frails in comparison to PS3, seven 3.2 gHz SPE's... I can't wait.

Yeah, MGS4 trailer at least the one I saw been shown at E3 was hilarious...I converted it to work on my PSP so I could show the neighbor kid.

Ontopic: The custom mix sounds like a cool idea mate!
