yes, fight simulator, not flight. I was thinking about making a computer program (or a calculator) program that has two charaters that fight eachother. It wouldnt relaly be a game. If it was for the comp, it would be quite an entertaining screensaver. What do you think?

How do you compile a screensaver?

Just rename a ".exe" file to ".scr" and rightclick on it, then click on install.

I made a Win32 program that would prompt with an error message saying "I can't find you" and then you get 3 options, abort, retry or cancel. The only way I got it to pop-up every 2 minutes was by setting it as a screensaver simply by renaming it to ".scr", worked great.

That is great.

At work today, I swaped the right and left mouse buttons on a few peoples mouse.

They are now calling me saying that they have some virus that effects the mouse. Neutral

I can then fix their problems in less than 10 seconds. Very Happy

As for the screensaver idea, I like it. I think there should be a screensaver that shows all of the various windows error messages.

I guess the only problem is that if there realy is an error, one might think the screensaver is working correctly.

Wouldn't you have to switch around the wires to flip the signal? Does it work on all mouses?

I knew screen savers have a .scr extention and executables have a .exe extention, but I never knew that you could just rename an executable, right click and select install.

I tried that, and I recognized it as a screen saver, but when I clicked on Install it brought up the display properties for the screensaver box, and my screen saver wasn't in the dropdown menu. Sad

Are there certain rules you have to follow in the .exe?

lol, would the scr rename thing work with a dos program i made with Turbo Pascal v.7? just wondering, cause that would be kinda cool to make my own scrsvr that says :
haking file windows.dll...
deleting requried library dks.dll

and it could just do random things... my dad would scream! it would be hilarious!

The program reads all of the files in a directory you choose.

In other words, they can be any pictures you wish.

I think this may be getting off topic, and I may be part of the cause Razz

Hehe, right after the first post :)

Anyway people can still ask or talk about the original subject of the thread so no harm done, right?

btw, doesn't work with dos programs ? I made a standard console app in c++ which just kept doing cout << "hello"; and it worked fine.
