I own a TI-89 Titanium, and after a few days of using it I can't factor anymore or expand since it gives weird numbers instead of expressions (e.g. factor x^2+4x+4 is supposed to give (X+2)^2 but it gives me something like .3^2)

When I reset my calculator it goes back to normal, but after a while the problem mysteriously reappears... heeeelp

did you store anything to x? cause that might cause the problem.

There is an option in one of the menus that clears all variables a..z which will clear it before calculations with variables.

What othe programs are you using? It sounds like reseting puts things back to normal, which it should, but then it comes back... You're probably doing something that places a value into x or whatever variable you're factoring with.

If you are going to store values to any variables, try not to use x, y, z and perhaps t. They seem to be used the most in the OS. Thought you could always double up things, like using "xx" instead of "x" or something...

Okay, done rambling.
