Hello, I'm kind of new to the calculator scene, so I apologise if my question is really stupid.

I have a TI 83 Plus, and was designing a level for the TI 83 mario game. As far as I know, the level packs are stored as programs in the RAM. I tried using TI Connect to back up my ram in order to get my level pack onto my computer, but when I looked in the group file that was created in my backups folder, the file was absent. Backing up the archive and applications was useless, as the file was not stored there.

Is there any way to select what file(s) I want to back-up? I'd like to get this pack out of my RAM before my calculator crashes and clears it again. If I can't select the file individually, is it possible transfer the file from the RAM to the archive memory using my calculator?

I'd appreciate any help that can be provided.

Find it in DeviceExplorer and drag and drop it out to a folder in Windows Explorer.

Or use TI graphlink (it should be on the CD you got with your calculator).

Click on "get file from calculator" (or something like that, it's an icon with an arrow pointing away from the calculator) and select the file. Then select the folder where the file has to be stored and: TADAA!.

I still can't get it to work. TI Connect keeps telling me that the variable name is invalid, no matter what I call it. TI Graph Link crashes when I try to run it, saying that it's missing wlink83p.exe, which, if I'm not mistaken, shold have been installed with the rest of the program.

I'm not even going to bother with Graph Link, as I doubt it will work with the USB Silver Link cable anyway.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get TI Connect to stop giving me that error?

I'm assuming you've already tried this, but if it's a basic file try:
RCL PrgmNAME (Name = whatever the program name is).
If it's an ASM file try unprotecting/unlocking it (not sure how much this'll help)

If all else fails, store it along with any small variable (like 'a') into a group on your calculator and send that group to your computer.
