Has this been mentioned before? I didn't find anything that did....
Well, anyways... I have a bunch of old TI-83 Pluses and each one have their own little glitches in their own special way. Is there any way that I would be able to take a soiled calc's good screen and replace it with a good calc's soiled screen? |

Well, it is possible to replace the LCD screen, but from what you've descriped you have no reason to. Anyways, if you can find a bunch of those little thin ribbon cable things and you have a connector for them or are a VERY good solderer, then I guess you could do it. |

What exactly did you mean by bad screen? If it's stained, the safest plan would probably be a simple surface cleaning. Now if the stains are beneath the protective screen--or the actual screen is damaged somehow, that's a different story. The plastic ribbon is very heat-intolerant and can't be soldered by any conventional means.
Luckily there are people who've successfully replaced these screens. The best option might be to research TI's manufacturing process through Google. Or try tech forums like electro-tech-online. |

That's not what you're first post said...

You could also use a hot air gun... |
