They have overclocking sites out there to overclock a TI 83+ and a TI 83+SE, and they involve soldering out a capacitor and putting in a new, lower value one. Well, if you put in a higher rating capacitor in it's place it should go slower.

Underclocking a calc is the last thing you should do. Those things are slow enough already!

It has nothing to do with the processing speed, I'm afraid. To use the extra speed of a SE in an asm program you have to enable it, otherwise the calc will run at the same speed as a regular 83p. TI made this feature so games and other programs that were dependant on the speed of the calculator would still compatable

But maybe the problem with the SE is the fact that it has more ROM and prgmROM83P simply doesn't "know" how to cooperate with it - making it impossible for the program to transfer it to TiLP

Duh, I said that already.

It would force the calc to run slower, possibly fixing this problem.

Well, that could be it too. Does a TI 83+SE also have more RAM? If so, how much?

The 83+SE has 23K RAM, just like the regular 83 plus. But the 83 has a little bit more ram? 28K or something? I checked the free memory of a 83, and it was over 26K, even though it had some data in it.

That really matters, cause you're going to use all that ram.

Someone should come out with emulators that work with other calcs that would simulate other calcs, like running a 83 program on a 86 calc.

Mirage OS could run 82 programs, but they deleted that feature with the last release. I don't care, since i don't have any 82 programs.

Running TI-82 progs is a waste of time since any worth playing have Ion ports.

Besides, there are enough 83+ games to fill your calc's memory. Even a SE's...

I saw this one site where this guy opened up his TI92 and soldered in another chip to increase his ROM. Does anyone here think that's possible with the TI83+?

Speaking of ROMS, [No mo' link[post="53461"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]]

I'm going VTI crazy with these ROMS....
