I have yet to see anything about this here at the forums, so here goes...

The 89Ti has begun appearing in stores around the United States. Other places I don't know of. Featuring extra memory, a new look, USB port, and some preloaded flash apps (plus everything the 89 has), it's TI's latest - and perhaps greatest - calculator.

You can pretty much sum it up as a test-legal Voyage 200 that can download games faster.

That depends on how you look at it.

I don't think it's ugly, though it's a bit bulky

I'm assuming it's the same size as the 84+/SE because the original 89 was similar in size (never actually compared them) with the 83/+/SE.

Except it's THE ULTIMATE graphing calculator now. At least, that's what I've seen mentioned at TI's site...

Personally, I don't like it. I also think it's ugly, I don't have a need for the extra memory (though I'm sure others do), and I really don't care how fast or conveniently my programs transfer.

Functionally, 89Ti = V200, so any claims to being the ultimate calculator or whatever must be shared by both.

But the V200 has a qwerty keyboard, so it's better.

That's so awesome, my head just exploded. And if you're wondering how I could then post this, pieces of my skull hit the Tab key, then a particularly large fragment struck Enter.

The V200 has a bigger screen than the 89. That is the one difference that cannot be fixed.
