I have a ti 83 + SE (stupid long name Wacko )
i think having both a 68k calc and z80 would be cool.
I would like to learn C but is learning it for the 89 worht it.
The 84+ SE seems to have nothing speaciel than what i have

Whichever you think is best. If you really want to go through the trouble of learning a whole new calculator so you can program in C, go for it.

If you have some sort of 83 already, buying another one would be stupid. (Despite TI's numbering system, the 84s are still 83-family calculators.) Nor should you buy an 89/92/V200 unless you're going to be in a math or engineering course where you actually need power like that.

I think you should extend your programming skills and buy the TI89 Titanium. Besides, if you already have got an TI83+SE, it's really (stupid) to buy another oneè

the same as everybody said, and the 84 SE is almost the same as the 83 SE. So buy the titanium, or even better, buy a palmtop instead

It depends on what you plan to do with it at school. The 68k will make short work of any trig or calculus assignments. Classmates will ask to borrow it alot.

If you do buy the 89Ti, Sir Robin or I could help you on operational issues. (I believe he and I are the only ones here who own 68k calculators. But I may be mistaken.) If I remember right, Sir Robin was also learning C (or A68k) at one point. Wonder if he ever got that finished with...

Thinks for ur opions Very Happy . I was grounded becase my dad sad to get off the computer but i was trying to load 'ourWorld'. It took to long and my dad rip the power code from my computer and i was grounded. IT was only 9:10 Wacko Mad Neutral .

The 84 has those Openlib and exelib that seem very usefull ( im guessing) but 89 does have those 3d games that look very cool and i already now a little abbout C.

Just note that im in 9th grade so ... if that chages your opion than tell me. im not sure what grade level spcefic the 89 is.

My teachers take my calc too if they see me playing on it, and a phone is smaller, so easier to hide.

More like math class specific. I only needed an 89 this year, in calculus.

I would prefer an 84 myself but it seems I am in the minority. I really dislike the Basic programming part of an 89, and no, I didn't ever finish learning 68k. Oh well, I'll learn C sooner or later (again, as soon as I get the time).

The 89 series is definitely more powerful math-wise, but I prefer the 83 series for all other purposes. I wouldn't mind 2 83-series calcs either - it gets annoying clearing my mem before every ARML or whatever...

We have no idea what they actually do, so any claims to their usefullness are silly.

The 89 family is not appropriate for any high school level math course.

They are for "an app" like I posted in that topic. Try asking TI.

Speak for yourself, I needed one this year in the 9th grade.

the "soon to come" 89 titanium is only 20-30 dollarz more then the 83SE so i think i MIGHT get that. sir robin do u have tutorials, compialrs what eva i need to start writing for the 89 or what you think i should now. U seem to know a lot so if its not to much help

I have one big question about the 84. Can asm progmars use the USB for like a two player game. The first version of USB transmites at 1.5 MB (yes Mega) per second. So it sounds like it will be easyer then the like port.
