Once upon a time, I resetted all the memory on my TI-83+ to start a VEEEEEERRRRRRRYYYYYY huge rpg (better than FFTOM). I started making this huge BASIC RPG, I added 3D animations, it was pure (flickering) 3D. Then I worked on battles. Battle interface was as good as RL3 interface, but monsters and characters used ASCII characters. There was 6 magics and 3 summons. You could even buy items in shops (my BASIC skills was high enough to do that). There was three characters per battles. Then I worked on the story (it was 5 hours long for the moment). After 1.5 months of hardwork, the game had 77 sub-prgms and it took 57000 bytes of memory.

But one day, I was at school working on the 3rd village (it was awesome, VERRRY awesome!!!!) when my brother announced me that it had a Mario (not Sam Heald's, another one) on his calc. I looked at it and discovered that he had MirageOS too. I was knowing that MirageOS detects BASIC prgms so I went on ti83plus.fr.fm and looked at the tutorial. I made all 77 prgms showing up in MOS and ya know what happened. Fortunately I had backed up the rpg on my brother calc. I removed a batterie after waiting 30 minutes of sorting prgms and I got the files back on my calc. I went on MOS and disabled the sort options.

Now here is what happened: My brother wanted to free up mem on his TI-83+ so I deleted the backup, but back on my calc, I went on MirageOS and after sseing doubles of my prgms, I reactivated the sort option. I got back in MOS and only saw garbage in thew prtgm list. Then the worst thing ever happened to my calc. It turned off, but when I turned ON, it turned OFF again (you know the equ->str bug), so I had to reset all mem and I lose everything (except for a picture that I forgot to delete from my brother calc.

That's difficult(!)

Even? Isn't that almost a requirement for rps?

You knew how to use variables, getkey, and display stuff on the screen, good for you.

Should've kept a hardcopy. Before I got a Graph Link cable I copied out the code of the games I wrote into a word processor.

Me too, but mainly to distribute, not to backup Smile
