I'm trying to find out how to get into full screen mode, and/or how to get the into any of the old MSDOS screen modes one would normally use assembly to get into.

Without needing DirectX or OpenGL of course, just the Windows API.

Just for the fun of it I googled for win32 "full screen", and the first hit is already quite promising.

Why would you not want to use a library that's made for direct access to hardware, rather than using win32 API which was made for application level programming?
