Instead of formatting your pc, learn how to get rid of spyware and virii properly. Result = no formatting needed.

defragmentation programs don't help against spyware, but it's still good practise to defrag regularly. For me, the defragmentation software provided with windows works fine, just type defrag in a command prompt.

I use norton internet security, and i never get any viruses, and rarley spyware, but i use ad-aware for that.

For calcs, a ram clear should fix any problems, no need to reset all memory.

Computers should be formatted twice a year too, cuz they get filled up with spyware and stuff, what makes it run faster.

Cruft is the general term.

Why wouldn't that apply to calcs?

Because the calculator OS is nowhere near as complicated as a PC's OS, and the calculator OS is in ROM and doesn't get changed by anything.

I have Norton Internet Security, but it's always off, cuz it blocks my network. And without the Network, there is no internet for me Laughing

ZoneAlarm is worse, it blocks my internet (i'm using shared connection). I can only be on this forum if my mom shuts down ZoneAlarm.

An internet security that stops you from using the internet. Fascinating. Kind of like the "Abstinence until Marriage" unit at school that is NC's sex-ed policy.

It doesn't stop the internet on the computer that's running it, only on the computer that's trying to use the internet of the server that has ZoneAlarm.

It's possibly to configure it so it doen't do that, but i'm too lazy right now.
