Is there any PC character equivalent to the negative symbol (the one like a minus sign, but a little smaller and higher) or the arrow produced by the STO-> key? Because going through the program after it's been transfered to the calculator to change every sigle one of those is getting on my nerves...

Well, I think you can just use the normal - symbol for negative, it's not like anyone will be confused.
Also, if you paste once into Word and use Replace All it only takes approximately 10 seconds.

I think there is a fontset for the computer included in the SDK or the CD somewhere that includes all the non-ASCII character. But, I don't know for sure if that's true, because I've never looked at the fontset itself to verify that. But, will let you know whenever I get around to that.

Yes except the normal minus sign does not seem to work, as it gives me errors when I use it, however when I replace it with the minus sign produced my pressing the key to the left of enter (83+), it works.

Could you describe what you're doing? It sounds like you're writing basic programs on the PC and then transferring them to the calculator, but if that's true you would have to be using the Graph Link software and you wouldn't be having a problem typing the negative sign or the store arrow.

Except with graphlink software, I think if you're entering stuff from the number pad on the computer keyboard, that won't work. You actually need to find it on a list of functions or something for it be a correct "negate" sign. (This is where Find and Replace All comes in handy. Laughing )

I am writing it on the computer and transferring it to the calculator. The only problem is I use the USB link and TI Graphlink only recognizes the serial cables or whatever. Anyway, I sort of looked around in TI Graphlink and I didn't see any way to put the characters in, although to be honest I didn't look very hard.

Wait, if you weren't using the Graph Link software before, what were you using?

Do explain that one. Are you using the Mac version of the software?

Nope

http://education.ti.com/uk/product/software/ticonnect.html

That's what I use, it has GraphLink, but like I said GraphLink doesn't recognize USB... at least not for me

Anyway I would just write it in notepad, paste it to GraphLink, save it, then send it to the calculator with TI Connect (inefficient, I know I know)

Ah. Instead of writing it in notepad and pasting it to Graph Link, you can just write it directly in Graph Link. Heck of a lot easier.

Yeah, but I hate not being able to maximize it, so it's almost worth the tradeoff.

At least use wordpad. Then you can set it to the TI font, and you can pull the various special symbols out of the Windows Character Map program.

In wordpad, you can make it automatically replace something like "->" or "L_" with the proper symbol.

if you write it directly into Graph Link, then it has that nice handy Calculator Keyboard (how could this be missed? IT'S [h]UGE!)...
