I have been working on a more memory expansion for the Ti-83+/SE for about a year now and it workds fairly decent! I made it out of a old NES! The NES is like a harddrive, but for the calc! Right now i have it so it can have twice the memory of the Ti-83+/Se! It plugs directly into the calc by using the link to link chord, but there are bugs i have found but i will keep u updated!

Yes its 1.16 and it works well but i am thinking about maybe once i am finished with my OS that i can use that instead! I am trying my best to make this have about 3 times as much memory as the ti-83+/SE! But i am still fixing a few bugs!

I didn't know the NES had Flash ROM in it. Or do you have to leave it on to keep the memory?

Schemes for external memory storage devices have been around for a long time, though the height of their popularity was back in the pre-Flash days.

I think there is no store anymore, now it's called membership instead (i think).

EDIT: there is a store, but you don't need it for free things (OS, free apps and so on).

Does it have more memory to store things such as programs?, is what I meant. :)

When I downloaded the os I downloaded it to mydocuments. How do I get it onto my calc?

The memory depends on two things, the hardware (how much memory built in) and how much space the software takes (size of OS).

Hardware isn't changed by downloading a new OS.
Size the software takes doesn't change so much it's worth a notice, if it changes at all.

Open TI Graph link, press link, send flash software, operating system. Then choose your file and press ok. Wink

It says sending new OS, and then it's finished. If you manage to find a difference between the new and the old OS, tell me, I haven't found one! Smile

Mostly comaptiblity issues. They need to make new OSs in order to support new accessories such at the TI-keyboard.

Also it clears all your RAM and archive i think.

On TI's site all it says is different is:

*Connectivity between your TI-83 Plus or TI-83 Plus Silver Edition and the TI Keyboard
*Improvement of communication between the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition and the CBL 2™.

The TI-Keyboard support was added back in 1.15... If it wasnt, my keyboard would not work at all Laughing
