For PHP, I think dreamweaver is the best. It costs money, though Neutral

where can i get kwrite?
jEdit has synax highlighting for 80+ languages and you can add your own (working on z80 Asm) it has bracket highlithing, error checkers, 50 different plugins (compilers, IRC client Smile ), file browser, multiple open files, max 2gb size per file, line numbering, java so it works on many operating systems

the only thing that syn has that jedi doesnt is the ability to have different highlight colors for each language. i like this cuz in multi html mode i have my php with a light grey background and my javascript has a light blue background. but it only has one custom highiter language and you cant customize too much about it Sad

Kwrite is a linux program (for KDE I believe), at least I think so, but maybe there is a Windows version to?

hmm... looks like you'll do fine with jEdit, I just found it had too much overhead for my liking(I like lightweight stuff). It's too bad RADasm doesn't go with Z80 ASM..

You could also just use the trail legally.

You can trick your way out of most limited day trails anyway, like adjusting your windows/mainboard clock or messing with the registry.

Can you preview your PHP pages with that? (view them as they'd look on the internet without having to set up an apache server or whatever)

I think it's meant that you should be able to do this, but I didn't get it to working, and those french errormessages scared me off. Neutral

It's not very difficult to set up a small server environment on your own computer if you want to preview php. I use Xitami, and it works perfectly.

Correct, but some programs have more protection while most of them use the registry.
