I was testing out a little feature I had just added to Chip's Challenge using Codex's invert tool at the end of the program. When the program ended, the lcd screen turned off and the only way I got it to turn on was with [2nd][On],[On]. I expected to see the usual "RAM Cleared" message on the screen, but it wasn't there. I went to run my program again, but it simply said "Done" right after launching the program. I went to look at the programming, and I was greeted by a flashing cursor at the top of a blank screen. All of my program names where still there, but all the programming was gone. What's more, even Codex displayed the "Done" message without enough time to do anything at all. I assume it was hollowed out in the process like the others. Oh this is bad, but it gets worse. Knowing I had recently backed up my programs, I went to ungroup Chip's Challenge. Now, shouldnt the archived stuff be untouched by a minor RAM clear? Apparently not, because I lost everything, the APPS, the program code, and even groups. All is lost save the names of my brave programs, residing no longer within the hex of the 83's memory nor the backup folder on my desktop. I would like to ask for a moment of silence in rememberance of Chip's Challenge 83.

OK, so it's not dead, I can re-program it within the next few days. Still a sad story, eh? Anybody have ANY idea of what happened???

Ok this is getting really weird. I deleted matrix [J] because for some reason it was 108x64 (I think, but I know it was over 100). When I deleted it the calc said Error:Mem but deleted it anyway. Suddenly all of my programs are back (wtf??) and it appears as though everything is normal. So I ran "CHIP" and got this screen:

I'm really confused. Somebody please help me understand why my calculator is flipping out.

if you still havent messed up the archive group, force it to reset ram (turn it on then remove a battery). it will cause the calc to redetect all things archived/size. see if the group is fine after that.

edit: did you give a copy to anyone for beta testing??

No, no beta testing yet. I got the program back to normal. Basicly all I did was re-send Codex to the calc and reset the ram (after sending everything to my computer). This only set CC back a little bit. I should be at where I was by today.

(to the UTI forum, not UTI)

'lo.

Try to say hi through pm/open topic, not in the basic forum.
