I've recently found out about the best action based rpg ever, nethack. It's over 10 years old, open source, and has been improved over the years. (though, if you want, you can still play it in 6*8 ascii mode Smile)

The moment I saw it, I knew it was a great game and perfect to make a clone of it on the Ti83, and thus I'm going to.

It probably won't have as many fancy options and commands (though they may come over time) but here's what I'll have in the first version:

Character Creation
>Race - Random, Human, Dwarf, Elf
>Career - Random, Warrior, Rogue, Ranger, Wizard
>Gender - Random, Male, Female
>Alignment - Random, Lawfull, Good, Neutral, Evil, Chaotic

Game World
>A dungeon of 250 levels
>Each level is randomly generated, so you can play the game over and over again
>Each level will have stairs to go up/down and will be the same when you return to it
>5 enemies/creatures
>23*14 tiles for each level, each tile is 4*4 pixels

Combat
>Turn-based
>Point-and-poke
>No excessive use of menu's (like Final Fantasy)
>Hotkeys

I'm currently working on the random level generator, which works as follows:
× Choose how many rooms are on current level
× Choose position of each room
× Store each room as 3*3 tiles (minimum size of a room) in temp level data (Str0)
× Set size of each room, increase if nescesarry and possible
× Choose where each room's door should be
× Calculate path from each room's door to the closest room's door
× Add objects to rooms
× Add enemies
× Show current room

I must say I have finally found a project I really like to work on.

Here's an image I did in paint that shows how it will look:
