Hi, everyone. I have just gotten my hand on a TI-Nspire that won't turn on. I got it with a TI-84 keypad. I have a clickpad keyboard. So, I took out the 84 keypad and put in the clickpad. I turned it on, but it didn't. I tried to use all the diagnosis button like cltr+home+enter+on. it didn't even turn on. I tried to connect to the computer but it didn't detect it. However, one strange thing is that when I input the 84 keypad and using the TI-84 keypad connects through a silverlink USB, the computer detects it as TI-84 version. Sometimes it detects as a TI-83. That strange. So, I connect it through that. But it really strange, I don't see anything on my calculator except blank screen. I try to increase the contrast but it doesn't work. The only thing that I can see is only when I click on Capture screen and take an image of it that I see the calculator is on. Someone please help me see the screen on my calculator. I'm really getting frustrated with this calculator. Please help.
If someone can help me correct this problem, I have a 25 dollars Dillard's Gift Card that I am willing to give away.

Yes. I bought another. It's not new. It belongs to a Radio Show that I bought it from.

oh it's second hand. YOu can't guarantee it to work if it is second hand. Hmm.... how much did you buy it for?
I also replyed to your other topic

Hmm im really stumped.
Try pushing the keypad right in and at the same time press the on button. Sometimes if the keypad is not in fully some of the buttons don't work. That's for my calc

I just got it 3 days ago. I can't tell the operating system on the N-spire. However, when I click on the information using the 84 keypad, it tells me that the operating system for the 84 version is 2.46.
Dillard's is an American retailer company selling clothes and accessories.

It's from a Radio Show. I am doubtful that they have much use of it. Therefore, the fix should be easy
Thanks for replying to my topic. I will keep that in mind.
I got it for the price of a normal scientific calculator.

By the way, the CAS+ turns on!!!!! Like I suspect, the battery needs to stay in there for quite some time.
Thank you, Goplat for the link.

did you try what i said in post #5?
also it does have to be on for the Computer link to detect it. Sigh...
Normal scientific calc price? Here, ill tell you my pricing
(in Australian Dollars, things are usually more expensive than in US, current exchange rate is 1AUD for 0.88USD...)
Casio FX-82 Scientific - about $20 AUD
TI-nspire - $200!!!
Did it come with instruciton manual?
Mine didn't even come with a 84+ keypad, must call TI to get one for free...
I bought min in Jan/Feb 2010 originally OS 1.4

I used the TI-connect to detect my Nspire-84 calc. I tried using the TI-Nspire connect to detect the Nspire but it didn't. The TI-connect detects my TI-84 through the I/O of the keypad using silverlink cable. Does not work with the usb that is located on top of the calculator when using TI-connect. The usb located on top of the calculator does not detects the calculator when using TI-Nspire link software.

Yes. The one that is located on top of the calculator. You should also have it on your calculator too that allows you to connect to the computer. The 84 keypad has a I/O hole that is located on the bottom of the pad. This, the TI-connect recognize. Ti-connect and TI-Nspire connect link are two different software to connect different calculators. I install both of them on my computer. The TI-connect detect the Nspire-84 only using silverlink cable. Nothing else detects it.
