Cool, but not crazy. It'll be interesting to see what the power loss is from that. I expect it to be quite a bit more than a regular tranny given that you have to continually use power to keep the desired gear ratio. Two motors fighting each other doesn't sound like a hot idea.
Aside from that, the biggest problem with CVTs isn't the lack of power they can handle, but rather that it is so different from a driver perspective. CVTs tend to feel weird to drivers, and that has been the biggest roadblock to their adoption.
