The TI-89 was first introduced in 1998, a more powerful alternative to the TI-83 series. Unlike the TI-83, the TI-89 can do symbolic math, including solving equations, integrating, and differentiating, with its built-in CAS. An upgraded TI-89 called the TI-89 Titanium was introduced in 2004, around the same time the TI-84 Plus series was released.
