Phoenix, Chicken Hunt, Block Dude, and Mario. Those are the ones that I've actually played that aren't on that list.

I haven't played a calculator game I wasn't in the process of writing since far too long ago Sad

Quit saying "forgot" you guys! It's personal preference! In no particular order...

CoBB's "Acelgoybis"
-----------------------
* Realistic Physics
* Fast gameplay
* Expandability

Sam Heald's "Mario"
-----------------------
* Best Mario Rendition
* Fast gameplay
* Expandability

Pat Davidson's "Phoenix" Series
------------------------------------
* Great replay value
* You guessed it! Fast gamplay
* Fun, yet small in size

Badja's "Lotus Turbo Challenge"
-------------------------------------
* Great difficulty
* Great implementation of graphics
* Fast! Fast! Fast!

Mardell and Cooseman's "ZTris"
-------------------------------------
* Best Tetris rendition
* 2 Player game!
* Difficulty!

Dwedit's "Bubble Bobble"
-----------------------------
* 2 Player game!
* Crazy gameplay & implementation!
* And fast!

...Keep in mind, I only play the TI-82 ports.

Yeah, Acelgoyobis was pretty awsome. Gemini is fun (but not at first). Umm... what else... all the metroid games (Metroid I, II and Pure). Luby's linerider is awsome (but it seems to be a little buggy). There's tons of good stuff out there, oh and I find it hard to beleive nobodies mentioned Contra which was INSANE.

Acelgoybis has never worked for me. Everytime I try to open it, it closes for some reason.

Mario - I had this listed as Super Mario.

Phoenix - Great Game! Just downloaded it right now and I really like it.

Lotus Turbo Challenge - I like this also!

ZTris - I like zTetris more, but this is OK.

Bubble Bobble - This game is cool but it takes up too much space. If I get my TI-83+ Silver working, I will definitely be putting this game on it.

Dying Eyes - Had this before. It's cool the 1st time - After that it gets boring.

The Verdante Forest - Too big, and it's an RPG so the replayability probably is that great.

Desolate - Same as above, although this looks better graphic wise.

Gemini - I had this before. The graphics are great but it's too big. It also takes be like 20 minutes to beat one level. lol

Block Dude - Also had this before - Beat it too many time. Got boring.

Linerider - I saw this on TICalc. It's OK I guess, kinda boring.

Contra - Played this a LOOOOONG time ago. Didn't really like the graphics and gameplay. It also takes up too much space.

..I think that's all. haha. Anyone have any more suggestions?

Asprin- Not fun.
Lotus Turbo Challenge- Don't know how anyone could find it fun.
Super Mario- The most addicting, but also extremely glitchy (has given me the BSOD many times). It gets boring after you have beaten all the good levels.
Acelgoyobis- Also extremely addicting. Cubfan: try having nothing but one table that you want to play in your RAM.
Death Rally- Awesome; don't know why nobody mentioned it so far. Incomplete, but still fun.
ZTris- The only Tetris that I have ever used, but has really glitchy link play. I don't know if ZTetris is better. BTW, did the author of ZTetris want it to be continued as ZTris?
All those RPGs etc.- I used to like them, but with all the files on my calculator, my VAT is so big that I can't play Desolate, The Verdante Forest, or Gemini. The Verdante Forest is full of glitches anyway.
Basic games- Even with xLib, they can't cut it for speed or size. I hate how Contra unarchives and archives a bunch of files every time you go to a new screen.

Guess you can't appreciate Basic...oh well. Some people are like that.

Aspirin -- Addictive, but old after a while
Phoenix -- Highest replay value EVER
Contra -- Runs fast for a basic game, but WAAAAYYY too many files to delete once you're done.

If I remember correctly, somebody here (or maybe on the Cemetech forums?) was actually going through the ticalc.org archives and creating a list of the "best" Assembly games. I don't know who that person was, but if he sees this topic he should write out his list.

You might be thinking of me or someone else, but I did make a crawl at one point.
Links in brackets lead to the most updated versionsórather, they did at one time.

EDIT: Noticing that many of these aren't Assembly, it was probably someone else.

Wow, that needs to be updated...how about making this giant thread where every posts what games they think are the best and why, and then you can treat it like a poll...(I suppose that's what's going on here).

Uncle Worm -- Great, but REALLY old after a while
xLIB xLIB Revolution -- Extreme graphics, but DDR with no music isn't DDR...
A lot of the other ones take WAY too many files to play...

Uncle Worm doesn't get old for me, but I only play it once in a while. To get a list of best games, go to ticalc.org's Ion or MirageOS game sections and click "rating" at the top. Wink

Just because the game uses a lot of programs to run, does not make it bad. Take pokemon for instance. You want me to try to package that into one program?

Yeah right. Currently the program is at 59.3k bytes, and standing at 35 programs.

Anyways, why hasn't anyone said Age of Darkness?!? Mad

A good puzzle game never gets old.

I like to play reversi, solitaire, tetris, and sodoku every once in a while.
These kind of games are fun to play because there is no time limit and they are always challenging.
They are the kind of game that you can actually learn something from, a characteristic that applies to very few games.

My favorite games usually contain most of the following:
1: High score
2: able to play it again
3: Difficulty settings
4: AI
5: Interesting game play
6: few subroutines
7: small size

Also, anyone feel like explaining Acelgolyobis (i.e. how to get it working)
