Ive started a new programming group called "Electroshock". Heres the main site (which is underdevelopement) and the forum which is up and is ready for posting. The staff projects section is not complete as I dont really know what the other members are working on atm.
The members are:
koolmansam375 (no duh!)
DarkAuron
ISUCK
And Madskillz has a section for his game, Cobra
start posting!!! :)
btw I need to know how to do the thing like on the UTI website with logging in --> posting a news article or comments etc.

What good is a website anyone can deface in less then 5 minutes of research and time?
Zabotage on the otherhand was designed from the ground up with security in mind, sure if you've installed phpnuke before, then installation for Zabotage is similar other then it is perl rather then php.

| instead of PHP-Nuke my friend says i should go with e107 (www.e107.org) . Is it better and safer or should I just forget it and go with Zabotage? |

| If he doesn't know the difference between Zabotage, PHP-nuke, and e107, I doubt he can write an entire forum code. And it's a waste of time, why not work on other projects? |

I never even heard of e107 and don't know he difference between it and PHP-nuke, and yet I am writing and have written a login-front-page-forum-post-php-script-thing.

i dont want to write my own forum. I want to write the main page but I dont know php/HTML well enough.
I dont know who would want to deface my homepage. I have heard of this happening if you have Ikonboard installed tho. It happened to JoeP (sic) of Maxcoderz. Im using phpBB tho. |

Soon, yes...there are still a couple things that need to be tied up first,
Karma scoring in profiles,
Profile links to that users comments,
Profile links to that users downloads,
Then its just a matter of bringing the old themes up to speed with the new theme engine (Aquabox, Unlit), and maybe making a new one as well. After that is all done, just a matter of packaging up the release, then updating www.freshmeat.net with the new version. Estimated timeframe 1-2 weeks before public release.
On another note, I will be releasing my 2 Hour Blog (php + mysql) sometime either Thursday or Friday this week under the GPL. Which just as the name implies was done in approximately 2 hours, one hour at a time on different days.

| What about Mambo instead of PHP-Nuke (or its variants)? The CalcWebzine uses it. Id use Zabotage but its not quite what Im looking for. |

I'm not familiar with Mambo, and don't feel bad about not using Zabotage, it was originally only written because nothing out there was quite what I was looking for. After a while, it branched of into not such a personal project...but I am still the sole maintainer of the project.
