i don't think I've ever kept an RPG on my calculator for longer than a week. But I'm not a huge fan of RPGs. |

:EDIT:
Nevermind, I misread it.
I've never installed an RPG on my calc, I never felt like copying all the files, chapters, etc.

I remember playing Little Dude 2 for at least 1 battery change. And I'm pretty sure I played the turboed version at least once more that school year.
The target size for the new RW is the same as the original but I don't want to waste any effort making it a 4 battery-change game if most gamers won't stick around for most of it. But I am anticipating the Mt. Everest of final bosses. One that would take days or weeks to practice & prepare for. |

I dont have a ti-82 , but I rarely keep RPGs around after I beat them. so less than 1 battery change usually. on the other hand I will not delete them until I have beaten them or determined that the game is crappy. |

I think the entertainment factor should determine the size. For me, if I'm playing a game that's very engaging I'll play it through to the end; the longer, the better. If the game is kind of dull I'll only be willing to play for so long. In terms of Robot War, I think you should shoot for the stars and make it as long as you wish, while keeping it fun, and engaging.
Now what exactly should that length be. Well, in terms of battery pull survivals (a funny way of judging game replayability ), I would think that the average user would be willing to spend the full 4 battery pulls for Robot War. I certainly would. |

for me it doesnt matter, I'll free up the space I need on my SE if I need it, if the game has over 150 files in 6 separate folders (which i doubt since RW is ASM) I'Ll install them, if the game is good its worth the install imo |

Okay, looks like I'll stick with the longer timeline then. The original was around a 6-7 hour game; I'll probably go for 15-16. Right now I'm looking for ways to max out replay value without requiring backtracking or grinding. |

Nothing on 83+ yet, but I'm planning to release the 82 version and an 83+ app simultaneously. It's got Smash Bros-inspired fighting to it so it will involve perfecting your own fight techniques as well as leveling up the actual character. It gets really crazy.
Check out the upcoming "Oceanside" trailer on August 17th.

Looks like dragon__lance's been busy himself, getting 151 poke sprites. People used to talk about how that couldn't be done.
I started experimenting with "milestone areas" in zones separating major landmarks. They're all avoidable but it's very difficult, even at the highest character levels so I'm betting they'll help boost playtime. So far, there's two of them. (Added them to the Oceanside video) |

I say go for the long time, as long as it doesn't get way to repetitive and involve grinding. With real time though, you could make some sweet bosses that have sweet moves and stuff. Go all out for sure. |

It was TI-Freak8x who got the 151 pokemon sprites. |

Yes, that port is also in progress. I'm having some troubles finding an "app template" that I base the port on. But after that, it should mostly be a matter of getting rid of self-modifying codes and figuring out all the flash page stuff. |
