I assume it is since someone would presumably say something otherwise... |

Everything I'm working on so far is internal. If I uploaded it now you would see next to no difference. |

 Umm... I know it's been three years since this topic was created, but have you given up on the project or just hit a bump and temporarily lost intrest in CSX. If you want a beta tester (assuming your still alive ), I have offered to test for almost all third-party OS's. |

[post="111512"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] That still doesn't tell me whats happened, or if he wants to accept my offer to beta test for him. I don't see why it would hurt to make one post after all these years. |

I think this project died.
But on the other hand, this one seems to still be active:

Maybe with some more support, this OS could have a good chance of growing rapidly.

I've been watching progress of all third party operating systems, and offered to test for all of them. Unfortunately, BAOS won't transfer to my calculator. Nostalgy doesn't seem to do anything, and Vera is only available as a rom file. FloppusMaximus said he is working on PongOS v.02, and would like me to test it if he gets it operable. |

No 3rd party OS for the 83+ series has ever really come close to replacing TI's OS. A 3rd party 89 OS did have some pretty good functionality (Pedrom), but was still no match for the built-in one.
Vera died. No one was interested enough to really work on it. I donated time moderating the forums, even a while after they died, but I didn't know enough ASM to do anything else, other than to contribute ideas, not knowing what was possible and what was impossible. |

Can't really do all that much thanks to the piss-poor state of TI-83 Plus emulation technology on FreeBSD.
And more to the point, I haven't had a computer over the past year or so. And only recently fished a ten-year old HP Pavilion (Pentium II 400MHz) out of a dumpster.*
Also I am indebted to the cable company to the tune of $700, so no Internet for me except for walking 40 minutes to and from the "local" library for 2 hours a day (oh well, good for the cardiovascular), which sort of puts limits on certain aspects of your productivity.
* Just kidding. It was actually next to the dumpster.
P.S. To be honest, I'd really like to rewrite that a tutorial of mine; I really am dissatisfied with the current state, too many errors and an overall unprofessional appearance. And I think spending more time on that would be a larger benefit to the community than some proof-of-concept operating system.

 I'm sorry to ask you this Sigma, but is that a "no" or a "Since my life sucks because I don't have a computer, so I'll just avoid giving a strait answer"? I thought you would like an offer to test the OS on a real calculator.

The hey? It's a simple explanation of the state of affairs as to why development has hit a major roadblock. And I thought I summed up my priorities pretty well in the postscript.
Can't say I really need any testers, sorry to disappoint you. I own a TI-83+ myself and have loaded CSX on it numerous times. But you can too and play around with the code if you want. |
