You don't really have to take it apart, you could just tape the screen and other such area's you don't want painted and then paint it.

Yeah, but how are you going to get arong the letters above each key? It would look really weird for them to be a different color than everything else.

Hmm.. you could make stickers for them (just get special paper with a sticky sticker side and print on it).

You could also just paint the slide cover, or the battery case.

I think the combination of a silver slide cover and a black calculator looks pretty neat!

Well, yeah, but then again an all red calc with sparkling glitter all over it would look nice too. Hehe TI83+RE.
