I am looking toward 8x8 for both asm and basic but not entirely sure! Anyone have any ideas?

In my unprofessional opinion, I'd say that whichever size offers the best performance and looks the best should be the one used.

It's really tough to draw a recognisible Sonic sprite under 12x8. Sam Heald ended up using that size in his Mario programs. Maybe 12x8 or 16x8 is the way to go.

I would say that a good sonic in 8x8 would be impossible ... and silly. I agree that larger sprites are needed.

Yeah a larger sprite would be needed...I just made some suggestions, thats all. 12x8 would be possible, so would 12x16.

I've actually scaled some sonic sprites down already to an 8x12. All I have it sonic in various positions, but they are all scaled quite nicely. I was going to attempt the game but never had the time *sigh* Rolling Eyes Anyhow, let me know if you'd like the sprites. Email: mxk18(at)gmail.com
