I just thought of a neat improvement to Chasm, in the old version, when you want to write uppercase letters, you have to press 2nd before every keypress. Perhaps it would be possible to make a 2nd lock and an ALPHA lock, or even better making it so that you have to hold the key down while pressing the next, as with the shift key and a normal keyboard. This would lower the number of keypresses and ease the programming a great deal. (at least for me )
Also it would be nice with a backspace button in addition to the del, having to go back a caracter and press del can be quite time consuming.

I think it would be nice if you could paste in mnemonics like the BASIC editor. That would reduce typing. |

Aren't you doing the same by asking? (That implicates me as well!)
The paste thing sounds like a good idea. |

I think some kind of hidden game would be cool. If I remember right, the HP 49G had a couple of hidden tetris games in the operating system. Perhaps something similar in your program would be cool. "I'm not paying games, I'm programming!"
I'll see if I can come up with with any relating to the actual purpose of your program. |

Maybe something like the ms word/excel easter eggs? (word had one where you type "blue", press space, bold it, make it blue, and then click the word logo in the info screen)
You could make something that when you type "war games", select it to copy, copy it, and then type in 999 it will give you a simple tic-tac-toe game. |

If the eggs take too much space, maybe not add them |

Happy Easter!!
Sorry, I couldn't help myself - all this talk about easter eggs.
How about making some utility for the computer to convert the Chasm source into an editable text file on the computer and vice versa. Something so that one would be able to start the project on the computer, send it to the calc, continue on the program at school, and finish it off later on the computer when coming home. |

I have TIConnect, Here is what I get when I open CMOUSE.8xp, the test source file, that comes with the old version of Chasm:

That is not really editable asm source, is it?
What I was thinking was some prog, to convert it from the above to readable asm code. |

Joy, you did step 1, now you save the file and open it in notepad.
Enjoy. |
