Projects of the Month: May 2016

Another month has gone by already, Cemetechians, and with it comes a new batch of Projects of the Month. Despite May being a prime period for final exams and standardized tests, we've seen new tools, new libraries, new utilities, and new games. Without further ado, here's what Cemetech's members have been busy creating; be sure to post your feedback, comments, suggestions, and compliments in their threads.
  • 2048 CE: TI-84 Plus CE programmer Rico has released a C port of the popular game 2048 to the TI-84 Plus CE. One our quietest members, Rico may have earned the unique distinction of publishing two TI-84 Plus CE games in the Archives without having made a single forum post first. Although it sounds like a few bugs are still being ironed out, the game looks fast and fun.
  • C SDK: MateoConLechuga has posted an update to the C SDK toolchain, allowing better support for debugging. Check out the latest post there for a link to the download and to check out all the new things done to this project!
  • CEmu: Adriweb and MateoConLechuga have been at work with the emulator, adding more functionality to debugging and all around improvements to the project. Check out the thread for a more detailed list of all the things it can do now!
  • Cesium: MateoConLechuga has posted up some updates for Cesium, his 84+CE shell. Like, a lot of updates. Part of it involving backing up data, other parts fixing various bugs. Probably best to check out the topic and grab the latest version if you haven't already done so!
  • Checkers CE: MateoConLechuga posted up an update for Checkers, after a request to have the game not force players to use a move that it thinks you need to use.
  • ConvPNG: After getting some suggestions and feedback, MateoConLechuga has updated this project. You can now specify palettes, and he added some other cool things, so check out the topic to get more information on what was changed and get access to that download link!
  • Desert Bus II: A port of a game by DJ_Omnimaga, ported from the color calculators back to the monochrome, by JWinslow23. The object of the game is to stay awake after crashing your bus for 8 hours. Check out the thread for more info and a link to download it.
  • Escheron: Twilight over Ragnoth: Iambian has shared a status update on this project, with an impressive screenshot and wall of text to explain all the cool new things that's been added in, or planned. Seriously, check out the post to see all that work that's been put into this project to date!
  • FlappyBird CE: Another TI-84 Plus CE game in C ported by Rico. If you're on the internet, it's impossible that you don't know what Flappy Bird is, and Rico's game is a faithful recreation. Check out the topic for a screenshot and download link.
  • ICE Compiler: PT_ has been working hard on his compiler for a TI-BASIC-like language. Like the Axe Parser for the monochrome calculators, the goal is to compile code written on (or off) calculator in standard TI-BASIC tokens into a faster compiled/assembled form. PT_'s language is closer to TI-BASIC than Axe, and we're keen to see how the project will continue developing. Take a look at his work, and feel free to offer your own feedback and encouragement!
  • Pegs CE: Ohernandez has released his first C CE game, Pegs! It comes with 15 levels and a level editor, so you can generate levels to drive your friends crazy with! Check out the topic for a link to the download!
  • Singular 84+CE charging stand: If you haven't seen, CHill has been working out a potential charging stand for use with your TI-84+ CE graphing calculator. He has gotten a model set up to be 3D printed, and with the help of other users, has an idea on what to use for the charging pins and possible hookups. Check out the topic for more on this project, along with the pretty pictures that's been posted.
  • SolidFRAME: Tr1p1ea has worked a bit more on this 3D renderer, And has laid claim to some impressive stats. Sadly, at the time of writing this post, his screenshots were non-functional. Hopefully he gets them brought back up soon!
  • StackerCE: Stacker appears to be a game where you are to try to stack up blocks as the cursor goes back and forth on the screen. Unicorn sadly didn't delve too much into details about the game, so you best jump into the thread and ask him for more information.
  • SwipeCE: Swipe is an interesting time waster of a game where you swipe either with or against arrows based on how they look. The game is a port from an android game. Check out the thread for more information, screenshot, and a download link!
  • System Tools: Comments2010 has released this project to the world, for the monochrome 83+/84+ line of calculators. There is quite the long list of features, the big one being giving BASIC programs more assembly based tools. Check out the topic for more information on what this tool suite is capable of.
  • Text Editor CE: MateoConLechuga has updated his Text Editor program to accept new forms of input, and updated the code for better rendering times. Details are in the topic.

Congratulations to all of our hard-working members and programmers for these impressive projects; we can't wait to see what they do next month.
