I've wanted to make a game using asm for my calculator. I have no experience with this language or how to make a program. Can anyone help? Question
Yes! You've come to the right place. We won't write the game for you, but we'll try to answer any questions you have!
Welcome!

I wrote these asm tutorials for absolute beginners. Maybe you'll find them useful.

Here's a tip by the way: When you're learning to program in z80, B_CALLs are your friend. (B_Call DisplayImage draws a picture, B_CALL PutS draws text, etc.) Unless you have a subprogram that needs to be super fast, don't be discouraged from using B_CALLs.

If you use the TI-84 Plus CE and your calculator's OS is updated above version 5.6 then it will be impossible to use ASM since Texas Instruments removed it. I assume they also did this for other calculators too. Neutral

This is false but you're new so okay?
Yes an excellent to highlight arTIfiCE - it allows you to run ASM on updated calculators: https://yvantt.github.io/arTIfiCE/

I downloaded Artifice and couldn't run it on Cabri Jr. and turns out to be an empty program with only a name. Bad Idea

It's a program used to run other programs (such as assembly ones) - because you have no other programs on your calculator you have a empty screen. This is why you don't understand what you are doing.
You have to download something from the archives or you can download a program in ticalc.org as well (Programs for Ti84ce if your calc is 5.6 or above, it also works for 5.3 but you wouldn't need it because it has asm and 5.6 doesn't) and then send them to your calc. Your program should have the name of the game in Artifice. Yall can correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm still new to ASM but I'm not new at all to TI-Basic and TI calculators in general. Graphing Calculator
