I wouldn't be that surprised.

Ugh. The physics of that would slow it down a bit.
pool physics wouldn't be too complex/slow
collisions between two solids would be rather easy
1. Constant acceleration assumed due to friction:
a[x] = x0+v[x]t+.5a[x]t^2
a[y] = y0+v[y]t+.5a[y]t^2
v[x] = v[x]+a[x]t
v[y] = v[y]+a[y]t
For each and every ball.
2. Detect collisions - number_of_ball^2 checks.
a[x] = x0+v[x]t+.5a[x]t^2
a[y] = y0+v[y]t+.5a[y]t^2
v[x] = v[x]+a[x]t
v[y] = v[y]+a[y]t
For each and every ball.

yes, but the deacceleration due to friction wouldn't need to be exact, just close enough that it is still fun (in other words, you could "cheat" it so its faster)
After reading this entire topic, I gotta say I am ashamed of you Jon. I have now had my calculator for just barely over a year, and Ive been in the B31337 for several months.
Basic is not dead.
have you seen my Basic contest entry? have you seen my code for Frog RPG?
Programming groups are fun. no reason not to join them. that first page made you sound like a Nazi. If you dont think programming calcs is something serious Im not sure why you are a member of a calculator website.

We should all have been more welcoming in the first place. Most of us were preety welcoming and have accepted their contests. It's contests like these the prove BASIC isn't dead, and sometimes these contests forster innovation and result in something that has never been seen before.
I'm glad to see there ARE some decent people here. I appreciate the support you guys have been giving us.
REMEMBER: Ideas entries due tomorrow! If you don't have your idea yet, at least send me the rest of your information that it requires by tomorrow (a little bit about you, who you are affiliated with, what you have done in calculating before, etc.) so that I can know that you will be entering. You can send me your idea when you have it.

Im not going to enter since Im already affiliated with UTI, Cemetech, SuiPsySof, and my own site.
but take it from me: for the most part the TI community is one of the most supportive ones on the web (there are a few exceptions....) but for the most part people remember that everyone was new once.

yeah, one reason I don't post there. Had good coding reputation, but not for newcomers. This placed was good when I slid in the cracks, and so have other sites. If you don't impress me quickly, you have lost me.
Also, I will not be entering this contest. I have too much going on, mainly on my RPG, and the fact that I am affiliated already with Calchaven, Cemetech, TI-Freakware, Omnimaga, and of course my own site.

I would have entered earlier in my programming career, but I have FAR too much on my plate ATM. If it was during the summer, I might have time for an entry.

I never said BASIC is dead.
no...thats what kllrnohj said.
you just said
a lot of people on UTI have entered (I think). Plus its bad for programming groups to get to big. makes it harder to maintain group spirit and prevent arguments.

That's not the same as saying BASIC is dead. There's just no groundbreaking left to do unless you're an ASM programmer making libraries.
