Laughing I had to get to the end of the post before I realized I wouldn't have to delete it. Apology accepted, if there was one buried somewhere deep within there. Wink
So THAT was your humor? I shudder at the thought of seeing you angry. I suppose they could have been a little more modest about it, but a gentle reprimand would have done enough, instead of the full-fledged rant.

rants are more fun and people tend to listen to them better
Hmm, Kllrnohj has a point there, but I don't know if a rant is always the best way to make people listen...

What apology?

A better way is to use big words that will require people to look up some words and actually do some active reading.
This part:

laugh at my humor while appreciating the subtle truisms beneath it and I won't have to be serious and even more devastatingly pessimistic and depressing.

It sounded perhaps...less angry...than the rest of it.
Well yeah, how serious can you get? It's just a calculator programming.

you mean so that people ignore the big words? if i said a big word, would you really go look it up? or would you skip over it and just ignore it like the rest of the internet's population?
Yeah I'm not the part of the Internet population that is only on for music, games, and MySpace.

I don't think you have much of a choice on dial-up.

by internet population i meant EVERYONE on the INTERNET as a whole, i said nothing about music, games, and MySpace - and incase you didn't notice, what i said more immediately referred to FORUMS, of which you ARE a part of
Ok well look at it this way. There will be one of three possibilities:

1. The person will already know what is being said.

2. The person will look it up.

3. Someone else will know what is being said, post a reply that many more people will understand, and start a discussion.

4. those who undertand don't reply, those who don't ignore it and hope their ignorance isn't discoverd

number 4 is what happens a good 99.99% of the time

if number 3 happens, the people who didn't know what the word was chimes in anyway and look like a total a.ss
Does anyone have faith in people?

Nope, no faith in anyone, including you.
Hmm. Maybe try to visit the French forums.

Why? So I can look retarded because I don't speak French? And I happen to hate the French as it is, so I don't think they want me.
To sum things up:

1. We were perhaps too arrogant, I'll agree with that. That is just my excellent hyping skills (I HAVE BEEN DOING MARKETING FOR TEEN PODCASTERS NETWORK FOR A YEAR NOW). All press is good press and we've had a smash of a marketing campaign. Bottom line, we want to make some new stuff, we're hyping it, trying to make some friends while we are doing it. Please support us as you can and at least be friends. Jon, I hope we can be friends despite your proclaimed hate for us. I think we are all here to program, we want to join your little club, so let's just have fun while we are here.

2. Ben actually is a math genius. No denying it. Next year as a sophomore (YES WE ARE FRESHMEN.), he will have no math classes to take at our excellent HS because he will have taken them all.

3. Our database fell apart. We're putting it back up. Sorry for the inconviencience.

I propose a truce- you support us, as there always will be new people (seriously, don't fear the future), and we'll admire you as the TI-BASIC gods that you are. Forgive our sin of admiring your rank and wishing to ascend to that level by grouping together and helping each other out in a friendly fashion.
