I'm writing an essay on the role of art in modern society, what I believe its role should be, where I think it is heading, and what its major impact has been on modern society. While I have the second and third parts down (though not written yet), I'm not quite sure about the first and fourth. Anyone care to chime in with their opinions on the matter(s)? I won't directly use your words, but will hopefully get some inspiration from them

I like art. Many things are art. Some things are not art, but can be made into art. Some other things are not art, and cannot be made into art. Not everyone agrees on whether any particular item/work/finding is art. Many people strongly disagree with my fourth assertion in this post.
