As announced earlier this week, Cemetech has taken over long-standing calculator community forum United-TI. First started in 2003, United-TI was formed out of the merger of several existing programming groups who shared a common goal of producing great projects and teaching new programmers the ropes of calculator development. It is with a heavy heart that we watch them finally close up shop nine years later, but I am happy to report that the valuable United-TI archives have been safely preserved in their full glory here on Cemetech.

The United-TI Forum Archives at Cemetech contain 135,000 of United-TI's posts in thousands of topics, fully-browseable for reference. In the past week, we have put together the necessary code to display the United-TI forums here on Cemetech from their original database, and though work continues on fine-tuning the results, especially BBCode rendering, all forum contents are now available. To ease the transition, you can link your Cemetech and United-TI accounts to show your United-TI username and posting records in your Cemetech profile. In addition, we will be adding a feature that lets you link Cemetech and United-TI topics, so that you can continue discussion from your United-TI topics on the Cemetech forum.

We welcome the United-TI forums to their final resting place, and we especially welcome United-TI's userbase. If you are new to Cemetech, don't forget to introduce yourself, say hello in the SAX chat widget at the left side of the page (or on #cemetech on irc.efnet.net), and share your current projects.

United-TI/Cemetech Account Linking

Very exciting! I look forward to an influx of activity.
It looks very nice and hopefully the users that were still active come here to showcase their projects.

Also is the integration of their downloads in Cemetech archives still in the plans? It would make them much easier to find.

Also when clicking profile links on UTI they give a 404 not found.
I'm sure you'll get to it, but Seana told me of this problem:

If you click on any of those highlighted links, you get a URL that looks like http://cemetech.net/projects/uti/viewforum.php?p=#.
Catherine/Seana: Repaired; thanks for the report.

DJ_O: Missing profiles are just something I haven't gotten around to yet; if I can finish Chapter 13 of my book before tomorrow night, I'll at least at a placeholder saying that I'm working on it.

Comic: You and me both, and thanks!
I just tried to access it via C6M, guess I got some work todo!

I guess so. Smile I did just about everything in terms of language files and templates, so you should have a relatively easy time of it. It's very cookie-cutter.
I linked my profiles, but the UTI information doesn't appear to be showing up on it.

Additionally, the BBCode tag for color appears to be broken on the UTI forums, possibly because the color= argument is given in quotes.

Do you yet support file attachments on the UTI posts?

That's because no one has coded it up yet. I'm running on very little time, and doing what I can.

I fixed most of the places where this happens; which ones remain?

No.

Oh, okay! I assumed it had been since the linking was implemented Smile

Second post. http://www.cemetech.net/projects/uti/viewtopic.php?t=5527
Nice catch. Improved the BBCode translation layer to properly handle that particular color code case.
Just curious, would it be possible to get my account linked to my Cemetech one without the automatic form of doing it? I have no way to do it like that, I had a very cryptic password for UTI when I was a member there long ago, and I have no record of it; and, as you can guess, I can't even start to guess what it is.

My UTI profile is: http://www.cemetech.net/projects/uti/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=31642

If that's not okay, then that's also fine by me; it's not like I even did much on UTI anyways to be upset about the linking not going through Razz

Manually linked. I should really make that a little bit easier for myself to do in the future, though.
Bump:

Question: Have the UTI file archives ever been uploaded somewhere else by the way? I am curious since I was looking for https://www.cemetech.net/projects/uti/?download=273 in particular (Text Sprites Finder, linked from http://tibasicdev.wikidot.com/textsprites , and it simply shows the page at https://www.cemetech.net/projects/uti/index.php .

Also, a minor issue with the UTI archives is that the forum skin there has some of the borders showing red background images instead of the blue ones.

Yeah I was actually looking for that exact same file, if I remember correctly, it just linked me to the UTI forums, not any particular file. They should check the links every now and then to see if they are all still good Razz still don't understand vertical text sprites tho, they say it's faster so it's definitely something I need to learn Razz
We definitely haven't posted them - I remember we discussed it with Netwizz at some point after the hand-off, and don't remember what the issues were that discouraged us from doing so at the time. Kerm can probably give more details.
